Volleyball

The Cabrillo After-School Volleyball Program begins on Friday, August 14, 2026.  In order for students to participate, they must complete a permission slip.  Please see Ms. Rich (larich@scusd.net) if you have any questions. Permission slips will be available in the PE Department and the front office.

The Volleyball program will have practices on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 3:15pm – 5:00pm. Early out days practices will be from 2:00 PM - 4:00PM.

The volleyball tryouts will start Friday, August 14th. If your student is one of the participants chosen for the team, their season will continue until October 15th. On game days, games will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. and finish between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Signing the permission slip form linked below also gives your student permission to participate in away games and travel to other schools.

Important Notes

• The objective of our program is to promote sportsmanship, improve volleyball skills, and play competitively against other teams in our league
• Players must maintain at least a “C” average to participate - 2.0 GPA
• Players must come to all practices; missing practice may lead to limited or no playing time at
• upcoming games and jeopardize their ability to remain part of the team
• Playing time may not necessarily be shared evenly among all team members; playing time depends on skill level, behavior at practice and games, and sportsmanship.
• Not all players who are suited up will necessarily get into the game, depending on the score
• On game days, games will begin at approximately 4:00pm for 6th/7th grade games, 5:00pm for 8th grade games.
• Signing this form also gives your student permission to participate in away games and travel to other schools. We will travel by school bus to those school sites.
