Schedule of competitions:

We have competitions or dual meets with other schools and the schedule will be announced and updated here soon.
-
We will also have competition for some Saturday Tournaments. These tournaments require a full day's commitment, usually from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m..
-
Wrestlers will need to arrange their own transportation to all events.
-
Wrestlers are encouraged to participate in competition, however it is not required.
Uniforms and Equipment:
-
Uniforms will be issued to students competing in competition.
-
7th and 8th grade students should practice in their PE clothes. We strongly suggest that these students purchase another set of PE clothes. Students will sweat in their clothes daily and they will need to be washed daily.
-
6th graders can also purchase PE clothes or they can wear their own athletic attire (T-shirt, shorts, sweatpants and/or sweatshirts).
-
Please no belts and no clips or metal on shorts or shoes.
-
Wrestling shoes are required for competition. They can be purchased online or at Athletic stores. Call ahead to see if they carry them. Get one size bigger than what they usually get. The shoes should last at least a couple of years and they will outgrow them.
-
Athletic shoes are required for conditioning outside of the wrestling gym.
-
Headgear is not required.
-
Please remove all jewelry before practice. No heavy make-up and no hair gels please.
-
Females should wear a sports bra under their practice shirt.
-
Mouthpieces are required for students that wear braces, they can be purchased at athletic stores.
Health and Hygiene:
-
Students are required to shower after practice. This is very important. Showers are available at the school for use after practice.
-
Students with Asthma should bring their inhalers to practice and competition. Please let the coaches know if the wrestler uses an inhaler.
-
Fingernails need to be clipped short. Please do this the day before the first practice and clip weekly.
-
Students with long hair should have their hair tied up/back.
Wrestling is a demanding sport. It is not easy. Athletes need to be at practice as much as possible. Wrestlers are grouped by weight at practice and competition. Safety is our primary concern. Participants need to be at practice to learn the fundamentals for safe participation. We look forward to having the students learn about this exciting sport!
